Hello My friends,

School began today for our household and wow what a flurry of events.  Now I can sit down with a cup of coffee and think about my next layout.

Actually, it is laying on my scrap table right now.  It is designed to use up some of those old things that I know we all have stuck in the closet or in our storage.  Pull out the leftover alphabet stickers and any miscellaneous bling and lets get to work.

First of all I took my son's school picture from last year. I know you have the same thing at your house.  Those school pictures that never make it to the wall and you just can't part with because your baby is growing up.  Well, now I have a layout just for THAT photo.

I worked up a very simple layout with the help of our friends and designers at Doodlebug.  I chose some not so girly paper as I was instructed "NO PINK".  I did manage to get in a little red into the details.  Next, use three coordinating papers (not too busy, just simple patterns) I created a 12x 1 1/2" border.  The other two patterns I cut one 6x7 and the other 6x5 to fit snuggle to the edge of the white background.  I placed the border over the two pieces and double matted my photo with the like patterns.

Grab those abc's and list the things about your little one or maybe big one that makes you smile and the things that even drive you crazy.

I started with my son's name in the top and then a list of descriptive words:  Smart, thoughtful, kind, inquisitive, loud, spunky, playful, hilarious, spirited, sweet, feisty, stubborn, curious, inventor, builder, artist, star, helper, SEVEN, 1st grade.

One more page DONE and in the book.

Hope you enjoyed it.

Drop us a line at sassyscrapper.net website if this was a great way for you to  pick up an idea or two.  If we get the response than you can look forward to more of these instructive layouts for all those who follow the blog.

Have a most wonderful day.  Enjoy your little ones taking pictures all the while as they grow up so fast (mine went into the 2nd grade this morning - WOW!)

Happy Scrappin,

~  Julie ~
